Removal Van Soho Modern Slavery Statement
Removal Van Soho is committed to conducting its business ethically and responsibly. This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps we take to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. It applies to all employees, contractors, agency workers, and suppliers engaged with Removal Van Soho.
Our Zero-Tolerance Approach
We operate a strict zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and child labour in any form. We expect the same high standards from all parties we work with, including suppliers, subcontractors, and business partners. No commercial objective or operational pressure justifies a breach of this policy.
All managers are responsible for promoting this stance within their teams and ensuring that activities under their control are carried out in accordance with this statement. Any employee found to be in breach of our zero-tolerance policy may face disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Our Operations and Supply Chains
Removal Van Soho provides removal and relocation services. Our supply chains include vehicle leasing and maintenance, fuel providers, equipment and packing materials, facilities management, and labour agencies. We recognise that some of these sectors can be vulnerable to labour exploitation, particularly where temporary or outsourced labour is used.
We are committed to identifying and assessing the risk of modern slavery across these supply chains and to implementing proportionate and effective controls to mitigate those risks.
Due Diligence and Supplier Audits
We aim to work only with suppliers and partners who share our commitment to human rights and fair working practices. As part of our onboarding and ongoing due diligence, we:
Require suppliers to confirm they comply with all applicable labour, employment, and human rights laws, including those relating to modern slavery and human trafficking.
Assess new suppliers for modern slavery risk, taking into account their sector, location, and use of subcontracted or agency labour.
Include contractual clauses that require suppliers to prevent modern slavery in their operations and supply chains and to notify us of any breaches.
Undertake periodic supplier audits and reviews, proportionate to the level of risk. These may include requests for supporting documentation, self-assessment questionnaires, or, where appropriate, site visits and interviews.
Where concerns are identified, we expect prompt corrective action. If a supplier fails to take appropriate steps, we reserve the right to review, suspend, or terminate the relationship.
Training and Awareness
We provide appropriate training and guidance to managers and employees, particularly those involved in procurement, recruitment, and supplier management. Training covers recognising signs of modern slavery, understanding our policies, and knowing how to escalate concerns. We regularly reinforce our expectations through internal communications and updates to policies and procedures.
Reporting Channels and Escalation
We encourage all employees, workers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to speak up if they suspect modern slavery or unethical labour practices in our business or supply chains. Concerns can be raised through internal reporting channels or directly to management, in confidence and without fear of retaliation.
All reports are treated seriously and will be investigated promptly and impartially. Where appropriate, we will work with law enforcement and relevant authorities. We are committed to protecting individuals who raise genuine concerns and will not tolerate any form of victimisation or detrimental treatment as a result of speaking up.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
We recognise that combating modern slavery is an ongoing process. We are committed to continuous improvement in our approach, including regularly evaluating the effectiveness of our policies, controls, and training.
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed annually by the leadership of Removal Van Soho to ensure it remains current, effective, and aligned with legal requirements and best practice. Where necessary, we will update our procedures and introduce additional measures to strengthen our safeguards against modern slavery and human trafficking.
This statement has been approved on behalf of Removal Van Soho and will be updated each year to reflect our progress and evolving responsibilities.
